The SSUNS will provide a new shortrange (urban) night sight capability that will integrate with the M40A3, M82A3, and a semi-automatic sniper rifle. The SSUNS is a lightweight, weapon mounted, and battery operated imaging device for engagement of targets at night and low light conditions. The SSUNS is an individual optic, capable of assisting scout sniper teams engaging targets during reduced light and/or obscured targets with increased identification certainty from 25-400 yards. The
SSUNS shall be used in conjunction with the SSDS.
