SCOUT SNIPER DAY SCOPE (SSDS)
Characteristics/Description:
The SSDS is variable power scopes that provides the scout/sniper with
the capability to clearly, easily and quickly acquire and engage
targets out to the maximum effective range of the host weapon. The SSDS
allows for the use of properly matched adjustment cams to fire from 100
yards to the maximum effective range for the M40A3 firing M118LR
ammunition and the M82A3 firing MK211 Raufoss ammunition. It is
waterproof up to 33 feet and has a first focal plane, USMC mil-dot
duplex type reticle. The Scout Sniper Day Scope is replacing the 10x
Unertl Sniper Scope.
Weapon Platforms: The SSDS mounts to the M40A3 Sniper Rifle,
MIL-STD-1913 Rail, and existing rail systems on the M40A3, M82A3 and
MK11 Mod1 Sniper Rifles.
